As a consumer you are always looking for low prices, bargains, a wide selection and convenience when shopping for you and your family, especially if you can go to a one-stop supercenter such as Walmart or Target where you can purchase most of your household items during one shopping excursion. Because of their every day low prices and a wide variety of consumer goods to choose from they attract thousands of shoppers to their supercenters, which are usually busy at all hours of the day and night.

With the high volume of business that the supercenters do on a daily basis and the large number of customers that shop at their stores, its is no wonder that shoppers are occasionally injured on their premises. Often times these accidents and injuries may be the result of negligence and carelessness by the supercenter employees, from stacking shelves too high with merchandise and allowing merchandise to fall and injure customers, not promptly cleaning up spilled liquids on the floor causing a customer to slip and fall, failing to keep their aisles free and clear of merchandise or debris which can cause customers to trip and fall causing injuries or numerous other unsafe practices that can result in serious injuries to customers at these supercenters.

If you are injured at a supercenter due to their negligence and carelessness in failing to provide a safe shopping environment, you need to protect yourself by obtaining the names, addresses and telephone numbers or business cards, if applicable, of any witnesses to your accident. Also be sure to write down the names of any store employees who may have witnessed your accident and note their approximate height, weight, race, age and hair color. Typically a supercenter manager or supervisor will complete an incident report asking you how the accident happened, recording the date, time and location of the accident within the store, as well as any witnesses present. Be sure you read this incident report carefully before they request you to sign it. If it contains inaccurate information on how the accident happened either make your corrections and initial it beside the corrections or if the manager will not let you make any corrections on the incident report then simply refuse to sign it. Further, request a copy of the incident report before you leave the store and, if possible, try to photograph the scene of the accident by using your cell phone or by purchasing a disposable camera at the store for this purpose. If you cannot get a photograph of the accident scene before it is cleaned up at least try to get photographs of the store employees cleaning up the accident scene. Of course, if you have been seriously injured and require emergency medical care, please request that a supercenter employee call an ambulance so that you receive immediate medical care for your injuries.

If you have been injured in slip and fall accident at a supercenter due to their negligence and carelessness in failing to provide a safe shopping environment, please call The Nuebel Law Firm today at 407-703-5999 so that we may help and assist you.
